Negotiation: Be nice
Posted by Wei Min Tan on May 20, 2021
Weimin Tan on the #1 key in negotiations – be nice.
The most important thing to remember when negotiating is to always be nice. People want to do deals with people they like.
The key is to get the other side to open up to you and to want to do a deal with you. All buyers try to negotiate the best deals so it’s a matter of being nice or being tough. Imagine you’re in the seller’s shoes and you encounter someone who’s negotiating politely and nicely and someone who’s disrespectful and tough, to whom would you sell your property to?
