Weimin is originally from Malaysia and came to the U.S. for college and graduate school. He joined Citigroup in 1998 after graduating from the MBA program at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne. His largest role at Citi was managing a $500 million credit cards business. He then decided to leave the corporate world to become a full-time real estate investor and then he became a real estate broker.
Weimin speaks Malay, English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Hokkien. This allows him to communicate with his clients more effectively. He has been living in Manhattan since 1999, first as a single person and now as a father and husband. He lives in Tribeca with his wife and two kids.
Wei Min focuses on a few clients at a time because he believes that’s the only way to be truly engaged with each client. The properties that he shows clients are luxury properties, and the value that he adds is in applying financial investment concepts into the purchase process so that the client can make an even more informed decision.
As a New York real estate agent, ultimately his reward is when the clients say that they have had a positive experience because this is all very personal to him.
